Playing with clay —
that’s how it feels to me.
Once I start, it is difficult to stop.

I love making bowls and cups.
There is so much to explore, so much to discover.
It is simple, and at the same time endlessly exciting.

I play with gravity,
searching for how my cups can balance,
even on the smallest foot.

My cups are made by pinching, coiling, and slapping.
They have different sides and profiles.
They are alive.

Clay is a slow process.
It takes three to four days to shape a cup,
each day a small step.
The clay then dries for three weeks,
is fired once,
glazed,
and fired a second time.

I fire my work at home in an ecological electric kiln.
It takes two days for the kiln to cool down.

And then —
magic.
Or disaster :-)
